The next Columbus Area Historical Society meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 11, 2024, at Cercis Brewing Company, 140 N. Dickason Blvd., Columbus. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

The Columbus Area Historical Society held its annual meeting, which included the election of officers, Nov. 8, 2023, at Cercis.

"Tap into History" -- Former Fire Chief Randy Koehn gave a presentation Jan. 14, 2023, at Julie’s Java House in Columbus, on the history of the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department.

2022 Events

A “Tap into History” presentation was held Nov. 9, 2022, at the Tea Time Wine Bar and Bakery in Columbus. Nathan Roberts and his father, George D. Roberts, talked about the history of G.D. Roberts Inc., which was celebrating 150 years of business in Columbus.
A family-friendly holiday-card craft time was held Dec. 4, 2022, at Tea Time Wine Bar and Bakery in Columbus, during the Packers game. Columbus Area Historical Society Christmas ornaments were for sale and there was a drawing to win an ornament of choice.
A “Tap into History” presentation was held Oct. 11, 2022, at Tea Time Wine Bar and Bakery regarding early businesses and proprietors in Columbus from about 1850 until 1900.
A “Tap into History” presentation was held Sept. 13, 2022, at Tea Time Wine Bar and Bakery regarding Camp Columbus, a German prisoner-of-war camp.
